Little Book of Beetles by Arthur V. Evans

Making up almost 25% of all animal species, this pocket-sized book tackles the Herculean task of endearing you to the nearly 400,000 types of beetles through snapshots of unique adaptations, physiology, and roles beetles play in their ecosystems. Each page contains a story, lesson, or original piece of artwork of these cosmopolitan and often overlooked insects. A cross between an entomology textbook and a natural history museum gallery, this book touches on evolutionary origins, modern-day agricultural, economic, and mythological status, and threats from climate change.
